What would you do if your life changed in an instant?
I never thought I would ever share a single word on the internet. BUT… I’ve learned so much from what happened to me, and I share it now because maybe others, too, will find ideas or answers here when life brings them to their lowest point.
Change does not happen overnight, though. It takes a lot of patience and time.
Light always finds its way – a new beginning.
Right now, I’m busier than ever — though you might not believe it — yet I spend my time only on things I truly enjoy.
Briefly, what happened to me
All my life, I tried to help others as a family doctor. And then… In a single moment, everything changed.
One moment can change
everything.
I ended up in the hospital with a heart attack. During the weeks of treatment, I realized I could never continue my work the same way as before.
The big question was: what should I do? I was not old enough for retirement — I had to wait another year. Hard decisions followed. In the end, I managed to keep my practice running with temporary substitutes, until one of my them moved abroad. Then I had to return to work myself, at least part-time.
I found it increasingly difficult to cope. Burnout took over me more and more each day; constant exhaustion drained me. I knew it was becoming too much to handle.
To make things even harder, after a long illness my husband passed away. That was when I truly wanted to hide away from the whole world — from everything and everyone.
So, I moved to our country house. I’ve been living here alone for almost two years now — but never lonely.
A door can be
a new chance.
Now the time has come to reconnect with people again.
On this site, I share all I have learned about healing, courage, and starting over. If even one sentence gives you strength too, then it’s all been worth it.
Opening up to the world again
Feel free to look around! You’ll find stories, music, experiences, ideas — and perhaps a little piece of me too: a doctor who now heals herself. And I will be happy if that can help someone else too.
The Game Night Chatroom takes place every Monday from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. I’ve been to this one now too.
The atmosphere is always cheerful and relaxed. Erin always leads it. Participants have played various games in English before, such as Bingo or games similar to Activity.
Now they have to guess words. One player knows the words and writes them down in English. The others have to figure out what they are. Certain words are forbidden. ( These would make it easy to guess. But it’s difficult because you’re not allowed to use them.
The goal is to have fun practicing English and connecting with each other at the same time.
This chat room is especially good for those who like to play, laugh, and learn in a more relaxed way—perhaps through less serious topics.
Would you like to see the other chat rooms? Or are you only interested in the Netflix Chatroom?
