Music- Learning guitar by English
You won’t believe it.
At the age of 66, I started learning to play the guitar. One day I heard a guitarist. His name is Estas Tonne.
II was instantly fascinated by his music. Then I had an idea. I had never learned to play music before. But why not try now, in my older age?
First, I asked artificial intelligence: “How old was the oldest person who started learning music?” The answer was: 100 years old!
Guitar
That gave me courage.
I bought an acoustic guitar. I began to practice.
Piano
I didn’t know how to read sheet music. So, I bought a foldable piano too. Maybe it’s easier to learn the basics on it. Of course, I use only English apps.
Because now English fills my life. (Guitartricks, SimplePiano, WorshipMusicAcademy)
Happiness
Every day, I listen to Estas Tonne’s Fusion. It brings me incredible happiness. Even more joy comes when I can produce sounds on my guitar.
Difficulties
It’s not easy. My fingers have arthritis. However that’s another reason why I chose the guitar. This way, I must move my fingers every day.
On this page, I will share my progress. I will tell you about my struggles and solutions.
I will describe which techniques helped me when I was stuck.
Playing Music by Ear
I will explain how I discovered playing music by ear.(Nashville Ear Training). Here is a song ( How Great is Our God)which is in this program.
And yes — I learn everything in English.
One day, I hope to be able to play Carcassi’s A Minor Prelude No. 59, like Matthew McAllister does on the guitar.
Other music I love
