Introducing the Native-Speakers

I will introduce the native-speakers in alphabetical order. There are 15 of them, plus Mr. Vig, the founder of Vig-Village.

ALEX

Alex arrived in Vig-Village not long ago, just like Ariel and Craig. He comes from Great Britain. But he also lives somewhere else, unlike almost everyone else here.
That is, Thailand is now his home.
He is always laughing, always smiling from ear to ear.

He used to run Easy chat rooms, but now he has a new task. He is now in charge of the Monday discussions in the Powerwords chat room.
I have heard of other plans he has: one of his ideas was a cooking chat room.
He also loves books. He especially likes thought-provoking books.

Alex is usually available on

  • MONDAY: 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.,
  • THURSDAY: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

AMY

Amy is from Australia, and we are no longer surprised that she lives in Malta. She travels a lot.
She is the host of the Easy and Open chat rooms. She likes to give mystical stories as tasks.

Amy is usually available on

  • MONDAY: 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
  • WEDNESDAY: 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

ARIEL

Ariel hasn’t been at Vig-Village for very long; I remember she arrived in April, just like Alex and Craig.

Ariel is actually from Hawaii, but life has brought her to Norway. What a difference in living conditions! There it was warm and sunny, here it is cold and often dark. But she said she likes living there.

Aiel

Her job is to run Easy chat rooms, but he has now also been given the Powerwords chat room, which is on Fridays.

Ariel is usually available:

  • TUESDAY 4:00-6:00 p.m.,
  • WEDNESDAY: 7:00-9:00 a.m.,
  • FRIDAY: 7:00-9:00 a.m.

Aubrey

I rarely see Aubrey. Perhaps because she is a native speaker of early morning chat rooms. And I don’t get up that early.
She is American, but lives in Thailand.
She is always laughing.

Aubrey is usually available: TUESDAY: 9:00-11:00 a.m.

BETH

Beth is a serious person, but she always laughs. She is always positive. (I forgot to ask her, but I think she studied psychology).
Surprisingly, she lives in Florida, where she is from.
But she also lived in South America (Peru, Chile) for a long time.
She is responsible for the Monday and Friday discussions in the Bookworm chat room.
She brought an interesting but difficult book last time, which took more than half year to work through. (Anthony Robbins: Awaken the Giant Within)
Now we are starting a new book.

Beth usually:

CRAIG

Craig is one of the three new native speakers. He is always joking around.
He is also from Great Britain (Liverpool, to be precise), but now lives in Spain. He talks a lot about Ireland, because he lived there for a long time.
Craig runs the Idioms and Medical chat rooms.

Craig is usually available

  • TUESDAY: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,
  • WEDNESDAY 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.,
  • FRIDAY: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.,
  • SATURDAY:
  • 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.,
  • 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,
  • SUNDAY 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Craig

Dayna

Dayna does more administrative work. If we have a problem with something, we always turn to her. She always helps us.
She also organizes the meetups. And she is the “substitute” if one of the native speakers is unexpectedly unable to come.
Dayna also lives in America, where she is from. But she has also lived in South America.
She is one of the hosts of the nightly chatrooms.

Dayna is usually available

THURSDAY: 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

ERIN

Erin is from the US and currently resides there. However, she has also lived in South America.
She manages the Game Night chat room and generally oversees the evening chat rooms, sharing responsibilities with Marni and Dayna.

Erin is usually available

  • 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • WEDNESDAY: 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Erin

FRANCENA

Francena lives in Poland, but she is originally from British Guiana. It is the only country in South America where English is spoken.
Francena is a very sensitive soul. She is full of emotions, which is why she runs the Sunday Poetry chatroom.

Francena is usually available

  • WEDNESDAY: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • SATURDAY: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
  • SUNDAY: 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

JESSICA

Jessica lives in Bolivia, but she is originally from the United States.
She has a quiet, gentle, smiling personality.
She runs the Bridge-Audio, Netflix and Powerwords chatrooms.

Jessica is usually available

  • TUESDAY: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • WEDNESDAY: 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • THURSDAY: 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Jessica

JODY

Jody is also from the US, but currently lives in the Philippines. However, she has lived in India, Mexico, and almost every state in the US during her childhood. And who knows where she will live next?
Not even she knows yet!
She used to host the Music Monday chat room, which is now called Tuesday Tunes. I still can’t get used to it.

Jody is usually available

  • TUESDAY: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
  • THURSDAY: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • FRIDAY: 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.

MARNI

Marni lives in Bolivia, but she is originally from Canada (and may have some connection to Finland).
She is a native speaker in the Podcast and Netflix chatrooms. However, she is often present in the evening chatrooms as well.

  • MONDAY: 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.
  • TUESDAY: 7:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.
  • FRIDAY: 6:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m.

NATHAN

Nathan is also from Canada, but lives in Malta.
He is the most playful member of Vig-Village.
His chatroom is where we get most of our new words and expressions for each topic.

Nathan

REBEKAH

Rebekah is the newest native speaker. She has only been with Vig-Village for a month or two.
I don’t know much about her yet.
She is from Ireland but lives in Spain.
She is a native speaker in our weekend chat rooms. With her help, you can now join the Vig-Village chat rooms anytime on weekends.

Rebekah is usually available

SATURDAY: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
SUNDAY: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Rebekah

RENÉE

Renée is probably the most experienced traveler in Vig-Village. She is originally from South Africa, but now lives in the Czech Republic.
She runs the Travels and Stories chat rooms, where we can talk about her travels and the stories in her book. Her chat rooms are always exciting.

Renée is usually available

  • THURSDAY: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
  • FRIDAY: 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Vig (Ryan)

Mr. Vig, or as he says, call me Ryan, the founder of Vig-Village. It was his idea to create this community. Thanks to him, we have the opportunity to talk to people with the help of native English speakers.

Mr. Vig is usually available

  • SATURDAY: 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. COACHING FOR CITIZENS, then
  • 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
