Since joining the Vig-Village community, I’ve had the chance to explore many types of chatrooms.
Bridge-Audio, however, has become one of my personal favorites. It combines reading, listening, and thoughtful conversation in a way that’s both engaging and gentle.
Each week, Mr. Vig, the founder of Vig-Village, selects an article for us — usually something insightful or current. What makes this chatroom unique is that the article is available both in written and audio form, so we can read it or listen to it — or both.
Not only that, but we can access each article for a full week, which allows us to revisit and reflect on it as many times as we like.
Then, during the chatroom session, a native speaker (hostess) guides the discussion. Usually, they select one or two key parts from the article, and first we discuss them together.
Afterwards, we move into breakout rooms, where we can share personal thoughts, reactions, or even questions — all in a safe and supportive space.
The conversations are never forced. Even if I don’t fully understand every word, I always feel welcome to participate.
In fact, that’s part of what makes this chatroom special: we talk about real topics, things that matter — not textbook examples.
The Bridge-Audio Chatroom takes place twice a week:
- Wednesdays from 8:00 to 9:00 PM (CET)
- Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:00 PM (CET)
Each session is hosted by a different native speaker (on Wednesday Jessica, on Thurstday Beth), which brings fresh perspective and variety.
For me, this chatroom has helped build my confidence in listening, and more importantly, it reminded me that language learning is also about connection, reflection, and sharing.
